Limitless living on the edge of the Atlantic
Moses Beach, Clifton, Cape Town
New development of a private penthouse within the overall apartment block construction situated at the sea. The new design is developed by upholding the fixed
carrying structure and planning outline. The only light is received through a wide glass facade towards the ocean.
Art collector and avid cook.
All rooms obtain access to the outside, the rooms become well lit, the living area receives a sound media and TV room within the cave.
The central open plan kitchen is fully equipped and has close access to the dining area and to the terrace overlooking the ocean. The terrace has an alcove and provides a clear view onto the breakers below. The penthouse comprises a bedroom area, a possible separate apartment and a large living area in the middle. The bathroom continues with the design, on one side the bath is
free-standing and on the other side only a pane of glass separates the shower from the ocean.
In front of the 340m² large penthouse spanned by the whole width lies an approx. 150m² large terrace with pool situated on the 9th floor. The built in fixtures for air conditioning, lighting, audio, video and internet is not noticeable and offers space for future
pictures and sculptures. A feature is the clever integration of the climate control for the chosen ceiling layout: through this the facade opens on the full height of 2.60 metres without further ceiling suspension.
