Urban growth at the highway interchange
On the former freight railway station of the Deutsche Bahn a new city district is to be developed. The area is to be available in stages and is disrupted by numerous traffic structures, which
span over the catchment areas of the fields towards the north. Paradoxically despite the well developed north-south link the traffic speed is the cause for the actual separation of the future housing. This distance is necessary to resolve it.

The terrains of the railway area will be framed on each side respectively by the passing highway. They adjoin in contrast to the natural area of the fields. The standard of the southern area is clearly higher than the northern. The design does not intend to reinterpret or a reshape the area around the flyover. It gives its existence value, and therefore allows
and savours the functions, the gestures and unique beauty of the construction. The new way functions as an urban gallery through the jagged surroundings. Spaces are inserted into the ground around the courtyards. The building volume capacity is reversed and mediates as a horizon between north and south. The living space is surrounded by greenery, in acoustic and optical
tranquillity. The park on the roof offers space for recreation and encounters.
